Two ways to become more tech savvy
When I try to answer the question, “how can I become more technological savvy?” inevitably I think about how I became savvy. Here is the short of it:
Assume The Computer Can Do It
No seriously, if you want to do something a computer should be able to do it. All you have to do is figure out how. For example, when I first started to work on excel I wanted to perform a calculation. I had numbers in two cells with fairly small numbers in them. I could have very easily done the calculation in my head but instead I said to myself, “self, this computer should do the work for you.” I then spent 30 minutes or so trying to figure out how to use formulas in Excel.
That sounds like the slow way doesn’t it? Maybe it was but in the future, when I have very large complicated numbers to calculate, I will know how to do it much faster than the guy who did it the “easy” way. Over the years this method has forced me to learn how to use my computer in ways the average person never does.
Don’t Reinvent the Wheel!
Often times the difference between an experienced computer geek and the newbie is the experienced guy knows he is not the best at everything. Web developers, at least the good ones, used each other to be better. One application: USE GOOGLE! If you want to figure something out open up your web browser and type it into the Google search bar. You will be amazed at how much information is out there to help you, FOR FREE! Another great resource is YouTube.
One Bonus Note
Be lazy 
one of the biggest hindrances to becoming better with computers is a lack of laziness, sort of. Wow, that’s a strange sentence! What I mean is that computers are supposed to make life easier for you. You might have to work hard to get something figured out but once you do you will love knowing how do used your computer to assist you in being lazy.
Databaseing Coolness
The best part of a good database is how it can make life easy for you. When you think of a database don’t think of it as a bunch of spreadsheets that you have to stare at for hours to find meaning. A good database does the work for you. It’s like having a personal researcher to report to you what you want to know. Databases should help you make better marketing desissions. Databases should help remind you of important events. Databases should do your annoying work so that you can do what you love.
So how do you make a database do all that? Dream my friend, dream!! If there is a will there is a way. I’ll post Ideas soon to give you more direction soon.
Most Important Web Site Trick
Do you want your site to perform well? Do you want people to come back to your site? I can give you one very fast trick to help you achieve that goal. The most important thing that makes a great web site is GREAT CONTENT! If you have highly useful information for your customers then they will keep coming to you for that information. Meet a customer need and your site will always perform better.
What I Have Done Wrong For SEO
Well as I consider my won site I can note many ways that I have not optimized it for SEO. Time is the issue here but I can help you avoid at least one major problem. I don’t have my address on every page. I don’t have my business address on any page. I don’t have a business address. I need to change business addresses and have not Gotten around to setting up a P.O. Box yet.
What does that have to do with SEO? Local SEO is looking for some clear way to confirm that your Business is relevant to local searches. What it does to confirm that is Search engines find addresses on your site and then associate your business with that address. The next time someone searches for a business that your site might be related to, you will rank better. It’s a great idea for Local SEO to have your business address on every page of your site. Maybe I’ll get there someday, when I have the time.
My Selfish Advice
Okay so I am shamelessly asking you to do something for me. That thing is to be my free marketer. This is the name of the marketing game these days! If you want your business to grow you need people who fall in love with your brand to become your free marketing agents. These people tell their friends about you, these people link to your site in their blogs, these people chat about you on facebook, these people don’t even know how helpful they are being to your business/organization. When someone falls in love with your product or service and is open about it all over the web, they are helping your web site rank better.
Search engins consider other peoples apinions of your site much more then your own opinion. If search engins see that you have natural popularity on the web then you will rank better. So here is where I get selfish. Please be my friend and my fan club. he he he

So where did opne3.com come from? Why did we name our company that? The first reason was the fact that it was available. Maybe a bit better reason is the fact that It is compatible with the services we provide. Our philosophy is to keep things cheap yet powerful for our customers. The nifty thing about the web is that there are so many solutions to business needs that are very cheap, even free. They call those free solutions open source solutions. Think about websites like google, yahoo, gmail, twitter, and facebook. These are some of the highest used sites on the web, yet they are free!!! There are other web sites that offer free or very cheap resources that can make your business more effective.
So what does that have to do with our name? The word OPEN in our name represents that philosophy. What about the 3? The three in our name represents the three types of service we provide optimization, development, and consultation.
